Malay Apple, Syzygium malaccense, is a beautiful tropical evergreen fruit tree with glossy foliage, showy red flowers and crisp, juicy, bell-shaped red fruit. Also known as Mountain Apple or Rose Apple in some regions, it makes an attractive edible feature tree for warm gardens, tropical fruit collections, food forests, orchards and subtropical-style planting. Best grown in full sun to part shade in fertile, well-drained soil with regular moisture, it performs best in warm, frost-free climates and can grow around 5–12m high in suitable conditions.
